Project Overview
DUG Construction was appointed to remediate and reinstate a rear garden area where the existing ground was found to be contaminated and unsuitable for landscaping use. The project required full excavation, structured reinstatement, and preparation for fencing and turf installation.
Initial Ground Condition & Excavation Requirement:
The existing soil contained mixed rubble, debris, and contaminants. To eliminate risk and form a stable base, the team excavated 600mm of contaminated material across the entire garden length.

Geotextile Membrane Installation
A geotextile membrane was installed to prevent cross-contamination and stabilise the new layers.

Import & Placement of 400mm Fill Sand
A 400mm layer of clean fill sand was imported, levelled, and compacted to provide a drainage-friendly foundation.

Installation of 200mm Topsoil
A final 200mm layer of nutrient-rich topsoil was installed to create a healthy growing environment for turf.

Fencing & Patio Installation
With the ground stabilised, fencing and patio works were completed safely and accurately.
